Vivi and Rex on the Lavallette Bayfront

64 degrees on February 1st! Call it Global Warming or call it a great day to go out and shoot. My good friend Meg from Meg’s Grill (great food) got her two kids in gear and met me on the bayfront. The wind was blowing, the sun was shining, and the kids were having fun. Special thanks to my assistant, Dan for his help. Hope this weather sticks around.

Baby Emily came prepared pretty in pink for the shoot. With a basket and a soft blanket, she fell asleep in the studio, and I was able to capture some peaceful sleeping-beauty moments.

Seaside Heights Casino Pier Grunge Shoot

We started the night in front of the bright-colored Le Petit Garage Boutique in Seaside Heights, which thankfully enough the owner Cara willingly let us use as a background. While Cara stayed inside arranging the latest accessories and articles of clothing, Carter and Caroline posed outside with the bright orange and pink storefront. After that, we headed to the boardwalk and the children played games and posed in front of the rides. I utilized the bright lights, unique architecture, and flashy signs of Seaside as additional backgrounds and fun props. The night was an incredible amount of fun with Carter’s dance moves and charismatic personality, along with Caroline’s natural modeling abilities. The mom wanted fun pictures with bright lights and colors, and Julie, I think you got it!

As the author Marion C. Garretty once said, “A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.” I’ve had the privilege of taking pictures of these sisters two years in a row, and capturing a little bit of their childhood for them to always look back on. This year for the shoot, they played around by the bayside in matching dresses, soaking up the last hour of Sunday daylight.

In return, we decided to let her snack on her first lollipop, which was definitely well-received.
